The name says it all: best enjoyed with a touch of bubbles.
Origin: The Amuse de Zélande is a small but well-filled oyster. It is special because it comes to life in the own breeding house of Roem van Yerseke. From the very beginning, it is cared for and guided. This labor-intensive process allows for constant quality monitoring. When it is large enough, it continues to grow in triangular plastic mesh baskets suspended above the seabed of the Oosterschelde. This protects the Amuse from storms and natural enemies.
Shape: Due to the cultivation process in baskets, where the oysters constantly move past each other due to the tide and waves, the growth edges break off more quickly. They remain relatively small and acquire the shape that makes the Amuse de Zélande so unique: a short and deep shell that creates ample space for the fine and elegant oyster meat.
Taste: The pure, nutritious Oosterscheldewater imparts the briny flavor to this soft, creamy oyster. Rightly, this can be called a savory treat from the sea! Enjoy this oyster with a chilled glass of bubbles or dry white wine. The Amuse de Zélande is particularly suitable for a first introduction to oysters. Due to its modest size, it is also ideal to serve as finger food.
