WIJNDOMEIN HOENSHOF

Hoenshof’s main goal is to put Belgian wines more prominently on the map and make them more accessible to a broad audience. Jerom Houben says, “A lot of knowledge was passed down to me from a young age. The path to writing our own story is wide open. We don’t want to copy and paste, but to innovate.”

In 2002, Hoenshof (Prof. Dr. Ghislain) planted his first grapevines on lands that have been in the family since 1907. His
son, Jerom, who grew up among the
wine barrels, is also passionate about the world of wine. Together, they cultivate
6.5 hectares of vineyards, featuring an impressive array of 25 different grape varieties. Ghislain possesses exceptional knowledge of the winemaking process.
As his title suggests, studying and creating are his passions, resulting in a diverse range of wines.

At Hoenshof, there’s a strong emphasis on experimenting with highly varied blends. They work mainly with innovative grape varieties that are adapted to the cool climate. Additionally, in 2021, the Hoenshof estate produced its first organic wines. Hoenshof wines consistently win medals each year in the national competition

for ‘Best Belgian Wine,’ as well as internationally at the ‘Paris Wine Cup’ and the ‘Organic Wine Award.’
