The Duroc pig, recognisable by its reddish-brown coat and drooping ears, has more fat between its muscles. This makes the typical, marbled meat more tender. Its feed is a composition of pure wheat, barley and maize, mixed with olive oil. Thanks to our pig feed programme, fat starts to form at just the right time in the animals’ development. The olive oil enhances the taste of the meat and makes it even tenderer.
